The Strengthening Personal Resilience Programme

What is the intended purpose of the course?

  • Know what causes people to call on their personal resilience.
  • Help individuals strengthen their personal resilience by, primarily, placing personal resilience in the context of the workplace.
  • Explore the influences, techniques and approaches that help individuals to be empowered to approach challenging situations with robust attitudes.
  • Support individuals in being able to sustain personal control and continue to strengthen resilience.
  • With an emphasis on the prevention of stress it helps individuals to take responsibility to remain resilient and grow their resilience.

The programme covers the following topics using discussion, theories and models of resilience and an extensive variety of activities and exercises to strengthen personal resilience:

  • The process of being resilient.
  • What is my current level of resilience – an assessment questionnaire.
  • Why do I need to be resilient?
  • How to strengthen personal resilience by strengthening personal control over oneself, over responses to events and over responses to people.
  • Actions required to take this forward personally and professionally.

The Manager’s Role in Resilience Programme

  • To empower managers and prevent their team members and colleagues from experiencing strain and stress by preventing events and behaviours that can cause these responses.
  • Create and sustain an and culture that provokes people to work hard and feel great.
  • Behave and act in ways that provoke their staff to have positive attitudes towards them.
  • Prevent the need for their staff to call on their resilience at work.
  • Help their workforce achieve sustainable peak performance.

This practical programme has been designed for leaders, managers, HR and OD specialists, to acquire the knowledge and skills to implement the changes necessary to reduce the need for the workforce to call on their resilience.

How is the format delivered?

This practical programme has been designed for leaders, managers, HR and OD specialists, to acquire the knowledge and skills to implement the changes necessary to reduce the need for the workforce to call on their resilience.

Shorter courses

The half day and 2 hour sessions are suitable as insight modules or refreshers, and would be ideal for organisations either considering the full day courses for employees or as additional training within teams already with trained members.

Delivery of the course

Courses are best delivered to 4-12 delegates and discounts are available for group and multiple course bookings. All materials are included in the cost of the course as is pre and post course support for attendees. Prices per person range from £250pp +VAT (minimum numbers of attendees apply).
